Monday July 24 - We roam

I didn't expect the day-to-day attire to be bright and colorful.

I was not expecting the intensity of black and white that I have seen here.

Went to the Disney store. They did not want to help me get a reservation to use their ticket service. They told me to go to 7-11 and buy our tickets to the park there. (Easier said than done. )

"Twisted Wonderland" is the phone game that Lillian really likes. We found an anime shop with merch including books, stickers, washi tape, and acrylic stands.

There were no books on Johnny's shelves.

Afternoon movie.

Animated. Brand new Studio Ghibli movie.

"How Do You Live" is the literal translation of the title. In America it will be released in December as "A Boy and His Heron".

We still have no idea what it was about.

Still better than being outside in the heat this afternoon.

Theater was packed. I'd guess 27 seats per row and 12 rows. 327 seats. Pretty darn close to sold out. It's been open ten days so far.

We were five rows back. I did not see phone out during the movie. I did not hear talking. My neighbors did sneak in cookies from outside 😝.

When the credits started, almost no one got up. Maybe a dozen people. No one started talking. I saw two phones come out. Everyone sat politely until the credits were over and the lights came up. I can't say people read the credits, but it did feel like they gave the animators and staff respect.
