Thursday July 27 Matsushima-Ishinomaki- Tishirojima Island - Friday July 28 - back to Tokyo

Matsushima

Yesterday (Wednesday) was is taking a skinkisen (fast) train from Tokyo to Sendai. Then a local train from Sendai to Matshiuma. Today (Thursday) is a slow train from Matshiuma to Ishinomaki, then a ferry from Ishinomaki to Tashirojima Island. Tomorrow (Friday) is a ferry, a slow/medium train to Sendai, then a fast train to Tokyo.

Not very crowded on the slow train, ha ha!

Ishinomaki has a Manga illustrator from town. They have his characters up all over town. There is a museum to him, too.

Somewhere there is a Pikachew train. We were not on that one. The ones with theme designs are often called Joy Trains.

Cities design their own manhole covers. Ishinomaki has fireworks over a bridge and fish under the bridge.

We passsed an air force base town on the train today. There will be an air show in August, this is a poster for it. I saw them practicing the show formations over the water East of Ishinomaki.

The ferry office absolutely knows who their target customer is. I think Thursday we were on "Mermaid II". Friday we were on "Sea Cat"
